Ella.

How cute is baby Ella? She gave me some of the funniest expressions. And she had just learned to walk the week before our shoot.

Double, double, toil, and trouble

The title of this post is dedicated to Halloween and all the candy comas and crazy costumes I had over the years. It in no way applies to the following pictures, which happen to have taken place at my double-header weekend. Just thought they kind of matched. :)

The first six are from Erin and Kyle's fun wedding. The rest are from Jimmy and Abby's. Jimmy and Abby were so great to work with. Abby was a beautiful bride! Congrats, you two!

Tomorrow I am headed to Asbury College (my alma mater) with my photography students for a field trip. I am so excited because I love my students and I always like to go back and visit. It's been 2.5 years since I graduated. Wow!

Above is a picture of a boy drinking his umpteenth glass of cappuccino punch. It was awesome, by the way. And below is what happens after the umpteenth glass: punch induced dance moves. The tie is off people! Love it!

I love, love, love this shot of Abby.

Jimmy's famous jump below. Great symmetry, guys.

Kyle + Erin. Part One.

I had a double-header wedding weekend October 17 and 18. It was a crazy weekend but both weddings went very well. The first, Kyle and Erin, was here in Lexington at the Bell House. It is a great location for smaller weddings. It's intimate and unique with lots of great details. This couple opted to see each other before the ceremony and it worked out so well! Another great part of the wedding was the dancing, which will be featured in part two of this post. Everyone, not just kids, were dancing. And the kids dancing really knew how to dance. I saw some choreographed moves out there!

Tip of the day: Shoot vertical...or horizontal in my case. I've been shooting vertically a ton lately. The point is...mix it up.

Engagment Sunday.

I think this one is very funny! Cinnamon the dog is trying to sneak away.

December, here I come.

Here's are the latest pictures in Mary Lashbrook's journey to photographic success. I just want to say thanks to all my brides and clients this year. I still have three weddings in November, but you guys rock and I have loved working with everyone! And thanks for all the referrals, I've already booked ten weddings for next year! Be sure to check out my website in a couple weeks, I am in the process of updating and over-hauling everything. I must say, I will be ready for a break come December. I have been working non-stop for awhile. I love it, but sometimes it's hard being teacher/librarian/photographer extraordinaire. I'm hoping to take a whole day off everything sometime soon. Let me know if you have any favorite non-work day pass times or movie recommendations.

Below is Melanie and Beau's engagement shoot and my nephews' fall shoot. Melanie, Beau and I were going to shoot at an orchard but it was too crowded. We ended up at a little, woodsy church they know about. It was perfect. Summer used to be my favorite season because it equals no school, now I love fall. Can't beat the low temperature for outdoor photo sessions.

And then there's Nathan and Noah. Nathan lost his first tooth! Yay! It's on the bottom (or was) so you can't tell in the pictures but he's got the money from the tooth fairy to prove it. I love their pictures, especially the family picture!

Tip of the day: Go for the silhouette.

September Fun in Review

Several weeks ago I went to the lake with some friends for some r&r. Here are the pictures. I love retreats and all that the retreat atmosphere entails. We ate a ton, laughed a lot, and I caught a couple fish.

This is Zoe, my friend's Dave and Lizbeth's dog. She uses a doggy wheelchair.

Peyton.

Max and Michelle.

Max the Ewok. I actually just googled "ewok" to make sure I spelled it right. I did!

Barbin hated dishing out the bug spray as much as Jackson hated taking it.
