We are alive!

Hello from Champfleuri! We have had a crazy busy and oh-so-fun week! Yesterday we just got back from a two-day hike in the Alps. We left Wednesday morning with our tents, sleeping bags and food on our backs and arrived Wednesday afternoon to the most beautiful place I have ever been. All 90 of us (counselors and campers) made it up and then down the mountain without any problems. We had a great time singing, eating, and sleeping under the stars despite the chilly temperature. I was not counting on wishing for my winter coat in July! It was cold up there!

Our Kentucky team of four plus Amanda (our adopted Floridian teammate) are doing very well. We are meeting and getting to know some awesome people. Now that camp is half way over, everyone is getting closer and becoming great friends. Our students have done a tremendous job befriending the French campers and teaching them English. Today we are in charge of the afternoon games. Can you say "water balloons galore?!" Oh yeah!

Here are a few pictures of us and me and our view. Sorry if a couple of them are large. Enjoy! Love to all!

Me looking all "Sound of Music." We took turns taking pictures with the hat and the walking stick.

Our campsite. Behind me were about twenty more tents.

Wow, Mary! The pics look awesome, and you really do capture the Sound of Music look. Glad you are having a good time and that everyone made it up and down that mountain safely. What a hike, I imagine! Enjoy your last week in France. I look forward to hearing stories when we're both back!
